Citizen Science is a globally recognised collaborative research approach used by universities, governments, NGO's and research institutions. It breaks down the traditional barriers between formal academics and the public by inviting everyday individuals to actively participate in the scientific process. Instead of acting as passive subjects, participants serve as vital co-creators of knowledge - formulating questions, collecting data, and analysing results alongside professional researchers.
By crowdsourcing diverse perspectives and widespread data collection, Citizen Science allows communities to tackle complex social, ecological, and scientific challenges at a scale that would be impossible for isolated experts to achieve alone.
