Introduction to the topic:
Human unity is not a distant ideal for Auroville; it is at the very origin of the project, a spark that continues to draw people from all parts of the world, inspired to experiment and evolve new ways of being, living, and building together. People from over sixty nations have arrived here - bringing with them vastly different cultural traditions, spiritual backgrounds, and lived experiences - united by a shared calling to participate in a project dedicated to “humanity as a whole” (Auroville Charter). As endorsed by UNESCO and the Government of India, Auroville was conceived as a living laboratory to pioneer alternative models of collective life, from shared-account cooperatives to non-hierarchical decision-making rooted in inner consciousness. By striving to live in "peace and progressive harmony above all creeds, all politics, and all nationalities" (The Mother), this community offers the world a tangible, evolving experiment in how human beings can transcend outer divisions and relate from a place of inner connection, from where harmony can radiate into every area of life.
This Citizen Science study invites us to reconnect with what brought us all here, bringing the core truth of human unity back to the forefront of our daily life. Human unity is not a remote endpoint to reach someday; it lives in every moment of how we act, interact, and build Auroville today. How we understand and express this unity varies deeply across our diverse backgrounds - whether shaped by surviving conflict or practicing everyday inclusion, or guided by the metaphysical values of Integral Yoga. By gathering and analysing our individual experiences, we honour Auroville’s Charter as a site of material and spiritual research, uncovering how human unity is actively felt and lived right now so that our daily example can inspire generations to come.

Outcomes of this Citizen Science Study
We analyse incoming data at the end of each 3-month Living Laboratory Cycle and share the latest insights and evolving outcomes in the Field Journal in Human Unity.
The First outcome will be published in the beginning of October.
